On the premise that voices and cultures cross-pollinate, ACAPOLLiNATiONS performs hauntingly sassy adaptations of Balkan Polyphony with an Aotearoa improvisation twist.

Zesty irregular rhythms, stirringly close harmony and the evocative voices of Tui Mamaki (French-Kiwi), Chelsea Prastiti (Greek-Kiwi) and Sally Howe (Cook Island-Kiwi), make this a rare and compelling musical moment.  ACAPOLLiNATiONS, founded in 2013, released its debut EP in 2014, alongside concerts at CJC Creative Jazz Club Aotearoa and Hamilton Garden Arts Festival.

This unique trio has enchanted audiences at Prana Festival, Titirangi Festival of Music, Te Uru Contemporary Art Gallery and Luminate. Their return to the stage in 2022, with the new EP "Mother Tongue", is enriched by Tui's living study in Bulgaria and by motherhood.
