Longtime John Butler Trio drummer (2003-2009) Michael Barker in 2010 formed two-person Blues/Roots juggernaut SWÂMP THÏNG, recording three albums Balladeer, Primordium, and  Rumors & Lies with fellow Kiwi Grant Haua.

Swamp Thing’s energetic live performances are re-known for inspiring concertgoers to dance and have fun while showcasing a wealth of musical experience and always engaging their audience.

Swamp Thing play every show like it is their last, making a sound that reaches far back into the musical DNA of roots music.

A lineup change in 2019 saw Brett Adams join SWÂMP THÏNG.

Brett Adams is a world-class guitar virtuoso known for his work with Tami Neilson, Tim Finn, 80’s NZ legends The Mockers and co fronting his band The BADS with partner Dianne Swann.

Michael Barker and Brett Adams are two dedicated musicians in their prime playing full throttle Americana venturing into improvisation and exploring wild moody guitar and percussive soundscapes.
