APPLICATIONS FOR 2025 WILL OPEN MID-YEAR
Volunteers play an essential role in the operations and delivery of WOMAD, from stage runners to traffic control and zero waste superstars. In past years we have had up to 400 volunteers involved, performing duties ensuring WOMAD runs smoothly by assisting and supporting key staff during this world music, arts and dance celebration.
Volunteers get to experience the best of both worlds at the festival, doing good by giving back to the community and enjoying one of the best-loved cultural festivals on the planet! As a volunteer, you work approximately half of the festival operating hours, so there is plenty of time to dance and soak up the sounds and scenery.
Our application period is from 18 September 2023 - 23 February 2024. Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis. Application close date may change based on numbers of applications.

TICKET PURCHASE FOR NEW VOLUTNEERS
Volunteers who are volunteering at WOMAD NZ for the first time are required to purchase a refundable volunteer ticket, and there's good news, you can use our Payplan option to pay your ticket off in weekly or fortnightly instalments. All volunteer payplan tickets need to be paid off by Feb 12th.
Please do not purchase a ticket for WOMAD NZ until you have been accepted as a volunteer as you require a specific volunteer link and code to enable your ticket to be refunded after the festival. If you purchase a general WOMAD NZ ticket you will not be refunded. You MUST provide your Team Leader a copy of your volunteer ticket no later than 18 Feb 2024 to confirm your role. DO NOT SCAN YOUR TICKET AT PRE-WRISTBANDING OR ON ENTRY TO THE FESTIVAL. If you do not complete your allocated shifts at WOMAD NZ you will not receive a refund. Refunds will be processed AFTER WOMAD NZ - please allow up to 3 weeks.
CAMPING FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are able to camp in a tent (bring your own) in the WOMAD NZ General camping area for free - please select this on the form below. Motorhome camping is available to volunteers at a cost of $100 for 3 nights. This option needs to be selected via the volunteer ticket link - please note the motorhome fee will NOT be refunded and availability is very limited. All volunteers requiring motorhome camping needs to purchase this ticket. Spaces are limited.
